Stuart Woods began his writing career in the advertising industry. After more than seventy novels and fifty consecutive hardcover bestsellers, Stuart Woods' thrillers continue to be a brand that readers come back to year after year for their swift action, racy characters, and crackling dialogue. His 1981 debut, "Chiefs," won the Edgar Award and was adapted into a miniseries for CBS starring Charlton Heston, Danny Glover, Billy Dee Williams and John Goodman. His latest novel, "Wild Card," is the 49th novel in his "Stone Barrington" series. He is an avid sailor who has competed in transatlantic races and a licensed, instrument-rated private pilot. A native of Georgia, Woods lives in Florida, Maine, and New Mexico.
