Maritere is an award-winning book author, bilingual and bicultural parenting expert, influencer, features writer, and speaker with a master’s degree in communications.  She became the voice of Latino parents over twenty years ago with her weekly parenting column published for twelve years by La Opinión newspaper in Los Angeles.  Her books, Raising Bilingual Children and Arroz con Pollo and Apple Pie:Raising Bicultural Children are published in English and in Spanish and have received an International Book Awards.  She has been a contributing writer for many online publications including HipLatina, ConnectHerMedia, Dual Language Schools, and Multilingual Kids Blog. A guest writer for Huffington Post, Mari has been featured in Alegria Bilingual Magazine, El Nuevo Día, Latina Style, El Post Antillano, todobebé, mamásporelmundo, and MomsRising/MamásConPoder, among others. She appears regularly on Spanish language media (Univision and Telemundo) where she shares her parenting expertise. For the last five years, Maritere has been a speaker at language conferences, school districts, universities, book and family festivals and women and digital conferences in California and New Mexico. Maritere was named a 2018 Latina of Influence by Hispanic Style. She received a 2018 Puerto Rican Blog Award in the education category and was nominated for a Tecla Award in the parenting category by the Hispanicize organization. Mari’s first bilingual children’s book, Luisito’s Island/La Isla de Luisito, was released last September.
