Ken Bensinger

Ken Bensinger has been a working journalist for twenty years, getting his start in a small magazine in New York soon after graduating from college before jumping to the Wall Street Journal where he was given his first beats to cover. He has since traveled the high plains of Mexico as a freelancer, followed consumer finance in the high-rise towers of New York, and chronicled the collapse of the auto industry from the gritty streets of Detroit. Since 2007, Bensinger has been based in Los Angeles, first for the Los Angeles Times and, since 2014, for BuzzFeed News as a member of its investigations team, where he has written about sports, immigration, and politics, among other topics. He grew up in Seattle, graduated from Duke University, and now lives with his wife, two children, and dog, in northeast LA. Bensinger speaks fluent Spanish and wishes he could say the same for Portuguese
