Dina Gilio-Whitaker

Dina Gilio-Whitaker (descendant of the Colville Confederated Tribes) teaches American Indian Studies at California State University San Marcos and is a consultant on American Indian environmental justice issues. She is also an award-winning freelance essayist and journalist, having written for numerous publications in the Native and mainstream media, and is currently a contributor to the Los Angeles Times. Her first book, "'All the Real Indians Died Off' and 20 Other Myths," was co-authored with Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz in 2016. Her newest book is "As Long as Grass Grows: The Indigenous Fight for Environmental Justice from Colonization to Standing Rock."
